Write for us
Eastern County Journal welcomes proposals that help readers understand county boundaries, place names, landscapes, routes or local records. Send a short pitch through the Contact page; a proposal is not a promise of publication.
What we welcome
We are interested in clear explainers, comparisons of maps or naming patterns, careful accounts of how routes and landscapes shape a place, and pieces that show readers how to approach a kind of local record. A useful contribution gives one subject room to breathe and makes its limits plain.
A good pitch
Tell us the subject, the central point you want to make, why it suits Eastern County Journal and what sources or examples you expect to use. Note any uncertainty or access limits at the outset. Keep the pitch focused; a broad topic is easier to assess when it has a specific question.
Before sending
Please send proposals through the Contact page, selecting the editorial option. Include a short outline and relevant experience only if it helps us assess the proposal. Do not send confidential material or assume that an unsolicited pitch has been accepted.
